There’s nothing quite as comforting as a bowl of soup on a chilly day.

In 2015, Empty Bowls New Zealand was launched, starting from an internationally based idea and a lot of questions about supporting our Community. That year over 900 bowls were made in 6 months and sold during August 2015, raising almost $20,000.

This money went directly to the Downtown Community Ministry for their invaluable work with Wellington’s “in need” and at risk community.

Every 2nd year Clay Artists around the Wellington Region make the unique, handmade bowls.

From 2nd September 2017 these bowls will be sold through Moore Wilson outlets for $25 each.

This year as well, 100% of money raised will go directly to the Downtown Community Ministry (DCM), the local charity committed to ending homelessness in Wellington.

I’m supporting Empty Bowls, because I feel it is a worthy cause. I like the connection between handmade bowls, food and helping those with less.
