This series of pieces has been inspired by a trip to Florence and Paris last year. The Firenze cress and Fleur de Lis are combined with slip techniques on terracotta, and are used in repetition to build a decorative surface.
The works are a combination of slab hand building, throwing and altering of forms.
Work is made with terracotta clay, glazed with a variety of earthenware glazes and fired in an electric kiln.
Vessels have a liner glaze which is food safe.
Each piece is signed and dated.
You can see this series at Elements NZP Exhibition.
