Immerse yourself in arts and culture on the lively Kāpiti Coast! The mission of our flagship art event, the Kāpiti Arts Trail, is to celebrate the arts on the Coast.

The Arts Trail provides a platform for established and emerging artists for participation and opportunity to engage with visiting public and the local community.

The Arts Trail runs over two weekends, open on 6/7 November 2022 and 12/13 November 2022.

Jennifer Turnbull has been a ceramic artist for over 30 years and holds a Diploma of Fine Arts (Ceramics) 1990.

Jennifer’s domestic collections focus on a clean and simple forms. Sometimes adding variation of surfaces, through use of textures, slips, prints, and stamps, followed by layers of glaze, bringing vibrancy to the finished piece. Emphasis is on form. She is always aware of the importance of the way a piece functions, not only visually, but how it feels in your hands, its weight, the colour and surface, all coming together in the final piece.

She uses a variety of clays from porcelain to earthenware and fire in both electric, gas and wood kilns and pit firing. She draws inspiration from the landscape, her garden and flora of New Zealand, especially the Kapiti Coast.
